Yuh-Line Niou is the candidate who beat the incumbent Assembly Member Alice Cancel in this yearŐs Democratic Primary. The seat was formerly held by former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver. Yuh-Line Niou was endorsed by Stonewall Democrats of NYC for her support for GENDA, the Conversion Therapy bill, the Child-Parent Security Act and other issues important to the LGBTQI community. She has been endorsed by GENDAŐs prime sponsor, State Senator Daniel Squadron.
