Equality New York provides monthly training to their members the last Thursday of every month from 7:00PM-8:00PM. These training sessions are needed to understand the theoretical and programmatic components of effective organizing, along with the tools needed to implement a successful campaign in local communities.

The Personal is Political

The Personal is Political came out of the feminists movement. We currently use the phrase to think about how our personal lives are connected to politics and policies. Participants will use this framework to discuss how to leverage personal stories in relation to support political and legislative movements.
Power Mapping for Progress

In organizing and policy, true change happens through strategic planning. Participants will learn how to conduct a power map which will allow them to identify targets that can help them advance their cause. A worksheet will be shared prior to the training.
A History of Social Movements
Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 7:00PM-8:00PM
Understanding history is crucial in moving us forward in the future. Participants will learn about the History of Organizing and critique what worked and what could have been done differently. This training will touch on many organizing efforts but focus predominantly on the LGBTQI movements throughout time.
