Transgender, Gender Non-Conforming, Non-Binary & Intersex
The Transgender, Gender Non-conforming, Non-Binary and Intersex (TGNCNBI) community continues to take a back seat in priority. This committee promotes the safety and health of the TGNCNBI community in all of our work.
The Transgender, Gender Non-conforming, Non-Binary and Intersex (TGNCNBI) Equity Committee prioritizes the empowerment, protection and visibility of all members of our community while centering the most marginalized: youth, elderly, and incarcerated people. Historically, the TGNCNBI community has been left behind in the fight for queer rights. This committee aims to keep our community at the forefront of the minds of all New Yorkers while monitoring the anti-trans rhetoric that is sweeping the nation.

The Transgender & Non-Binary Anti-Discrimination Requirements in Schools bill will ensure all TGNCNBI students in K-12 education settings will be safer due to the guidelines schools will have to develop.
TGNCNBI students are routinely misgendered and denied accommodations based on their gender identity in educational settings. While some large New York school districts have policies to protect TGNCNBI young people, most do not.
