2020 was a very challenging year for most New Yorkers. In addition to battling a deadly pandemic, our community was constantly battling the Trump Administration’s anti-LGBTQI policy rollbacks and defending our existence in the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS).
All year, Equality New York and our 5,000 members worked to ensure state level protections were passed here in New York State. Not only did we collectively secure statewide protections, but we were also able to launch new leadership programming, educate our community on their rights, and find innovative ways to stay connected.
